GATHERING & AMP; EXPLORING

CHARCOAL
I use all natural matter to create charcoal for my paintings. That allows me to keep nature moving through the creation process and, ultimately, the finished work.
Collecting Wild Geranium
Learning from nature and exploring personal feelings within nature are sources of inspiration. I clear my mind, open the space for creation and engagement with nature. This allows me to find and gather materials for my pieces.
MATERIAL
Straw, mud, creek water, cutleaf toothwart, wild geranium and blue phlox
FRAMING
Harvested hardwoods from Appalachian Ohio, custom made by a local craftsman, blends traditional and modern joinery creating aesthetically pleasing wooden frames for my paintings and customers.
